- You need 2 Cups of Jeera Rice.
- You need 500 gms of Mutton with bone.
- Prepare For of Masala--.
- You need 4 of green chillies.
- You need 2 of small inch cinnamon sticks.
- Prepare 3 of cardmoms.
- You need 3 of cloves.
- Prepare 1 pinch of nutmeg powder.
- It's 2 inches of ginger.
- Prepare 15 of garlic cloves.
- Prepare 15 of shallots.
- It's 1/2 tsp of fennel seeds.
- Prepare For of rice--.
- You need 2 teaspoons of ghee.
- It's as required of Oil.
- You need 1/2 tsp of chilli powder.
- It's 1/2 cup of curd.
- Prepare as per taste of Salt.
- Prepare 1/2 cup of mint leaves.
- Prepare 1 cup of coriander leaves.
- Prepare 1/2 of lime juice.
Thalapakatti style Mutton Biryani instructions
- Wash and soak the rice at least for 30 mins..
- Grind all the ingredients in masala paste with little water and keep aside..
- Heat oil and ghee in a pressure cook and add the ground paste to it. Add mutton pieces and 2 cups of water and salt..
- Add in the curd and chilli powder to it..
- Mix well and cook the mutton in the masala for min 20 mins in medium flame. Remove it from flame and wait for fir pressure to drop..
- Fish out the mutton pieces and measure the water after taking mutton out. Add water 2x times rice. If 2 cup water is there add 2 more cups to cook rice..
- Add chopped coriander, mint and lemon juice and bring it to boil. Add the rice and cook in a closed lid..
- When rice is 3/4 done.add the mutton pieces and further cook it for few more minutes. And let it remain closed for a while.,and switch off the flame..
- The rice absorbs all the flavors during this time.Serve it with raita and pappad..
