Ingredients of Soya Chunks Biryani

  1. Prepare of FOR MARINATION:.
  2. It's 1 cup of soya chunks.
  3. Prepare 1 cup of curd / yogurt, thick.
  4. It's 1/4 tsp of turmeric / haldi.
  5. It's 1 tsp of kashmiri red chilli powder / lal mirch powder.
  6. Prepare 1/2 tsp of ginger garlic paste.
  7. You need 1 tbsp of biryani masala powder.
  8. You need 1/2 tsp of salt.
  9. It's 1 tsp of Orange food colour.
  10. You need of OTHER INGREDIENTS:.
  11. It's 2 tbsp+1tsp of ghee / clarified butter.
  12. You need 1 of bay leaf / tej patta.
  13. Prepare 1 inch of cinnamon / dalchini.
  14. You need 5 of cloves.
  15. Prepare 1 of star anise.
  16. Prepare 4 of cardamom.
  17. You need 1/2 tsp of black pepper.
  18. You need 1 tsp of cumin.
  19. It's 1 of onion, finely chopped.
  20. It's 1/2 tsp of ginger garlic paste.
  21. It's 1 1/2 cup of basmati rice, soaked.
  22. You need 3/4 tsp of salt.
  23. Prepare 3 tbsp of fried onions.
  24. You need 1/2 tsp of biryani masala powder.
  25. It's 3 tbsp of coriander & mint, chopped.
  26. Prepare 2 1/4 cup of water.

Soya Chunks Biryani instructions

  1. Firstly, in a large bowl soak 1 cup soya chunks in hot water for 15 minutes. after 20 minutes, soya turns soft and squeeze off the water. keep aside..
  2. In a large mixing bowl prepare the marination by taking 1 cup thick curd. also add ¼ tsp turmeric, 1 tsp chilli powder, 1 tbsp biryani masala powder, ½ tsp ginger garlic paste and ½ tsp salt. whisk well to form a smooth paste. now add soaked soya chunks and mix well and allow to marinate in refrigerator 1 hour..

Further in a pressure cooker heat 2 tbsp ghee. alternatively use oil. add in spices like 1 bay leaf, 1 inch cinnamon, 1 star anise, 5 cloves, 4 cardamom, ½ tsp pepper, 1 tsp cumin. saute till the spices turn aromat. additionally add in 1 onion and saute well followed by ½ tsp ginger garlic paste. add the prepared marinated soya and vegetables to the cooker and level them out..
  4. Now add 1½ cup of basmati rice (soaked for 20 minutes) and spread evenly over marinated soya..
  5. Sprinkle ¾ tsp salt, 3 tbsp fried onions / barista, ½ tsp biryani masala powder, 3 tbsp coriander & mint and 1 tsp ghee. furthermore, pour 2¼ cup of water from sides without disturbing the layers.and also add orange food colour water in centre or little bit in sides..
  6. Cover and pressure cook for 2 whistles on medium flame or if cooking in normal kadai; seal and simmer for 20 minutes on low flame..
  7. Finally, once the pressure settles down, open the lid and serve the soya biryani along with raita and ENJOY!.
