- It's 6 of medium oval shaped potatoes.
- It's 2 of onions.
- It's 3 of tomatoes.
- It's 1/2 inch of ginger.
- It's 7-8 cloves of garlic.
- Prepare 1 of bay leaf.
- Prepare 5-6 of black peppercorns.
- Prepare 4-5 of cloves.
- It's 1 tsp of jeera(cumin seeds).
- It's 2 tsp of red chilli powder.
- It's 11/2 tsp of kashmiri chilli powder.
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of haldi (Turmeric)powder.
- Prepare 1 tsp of garam masala.
- Prepare 1/4 tsp of coriander powder.

Dum Aloo step by step
- Dum aloo is basically made with baby potatoes. But I have used normal medium potatoes.Boil the potatoes and peel and let the cool. Cut into two halves.Apply salt and haldi powder..
- Fry these potatoes and keep aside..
- Chop onions, tomatoes, garlic a the ginger..
- Grind all these to a smooth paste..
- In a kadai take 2 tbsp oil and add one bay leaf, jeera, black peppercorns, cloves and saute..
- Then the onion tomato puree and add kashmiri chilli powder, haldi powder,red chilli powder, coriander powder and mix well. Cook till oil separates..
- Then add curd and little water and cook on slow flame till oil floats..
- Add salt to taste and add fried potatoes, garam masala and chopped coriander. Give it a mix. Cook on medium flame for 10 mins. Serve hot with roti or naan. Yummy Dum Aloo is ready..
