Ingredients of Tricolor Idli

  1. It's 3 cup of Rice (Idli Rice).
  2. It's 2 cup of Urad dal.
  3. You need 3 tsp of Salt.
  4. You need 2 tsp of Carrot puree.
  5. It's 2 tsp of Palak puree.

Tricolor Idli step by step

  1. Wash Idli Rice and Urad dal separately..
  2. Soak them in water separately for 8-10 hrs..
  3. Grind separately in grinder, do not add water during grinding..
  4. Mix the Rice and Dal mixture properly..
  5. Keep this mixture overnight in a warm place to ferment..
  6. Add salt and mix well..
  7. Now divide it in three parts..
  8. For Carrot puree: Chop carrots and grind them in grinder, sieve and Carrot puree is ready..
  9. For Palak puree: Wash Palak leaves and grind them in grinder, Palak puree is ready..
  10. To one part add Carrot puree and mix well..
  11. To second part add Palak puree and mix well..
  12. Leave the third part white only..
  13. Now pour the idli batter in idli pan in different patterns..
  14. Put the pan in idli cooker and cook for 10-15 mins or until done..
  15. Serve hot with chutney or fresh curd or ketchup..
