- You need 2 cups of basmati rice.
- You need 4 cups of water.
- Prepare 1 tablespoon of haldi / turmeric powder.
- Prepare 1 cube of ginger paste.
- You need 1 table spoon of jeera powder/paste.
- You need 1&1/2 tablespoon of salt.
- Prepare 3 tablespoon of sugar.
- Prepare 1/2 cup of Kaju / cashew nuts.
- You need 1/2 cup of Kismis / raisin.
- You need 2 of bay leaf.
- You need 4 of elaichi / cardamom.
- Prepare 1 of darchini / cinnamon stick.
- It's 5 of cloves.
- You need 1/2 teaspoon of garam masala powder.
- Prepare 4 teaspoon of desi ghee.
- Prepare 4 teaspoon of white oil.
Basanti Pulao instructions
- Wash rice & drain water keep aside for drying..
- Heat handi, add desi ghee & white oil..
- Add cashew nuts & raisin fry until becomes golden brown..
- Now add rice and saute for 2 minutes..
- Now add bay leaf and whole garam masala..
- Now add turmeric powder, jeera paste/powder and ginger paste and mix well..
- Now add salt and sugar mix it well saute for 2 mins..
- Add water then cover handi with lid and on mid high flame let it cook. When water starts to get absorbed then open lid and on low flame cook until water gets fully absorbed & rice is cooked completely..
- Then add ghee & garam masala powder and cover lid for 5 minutes. Then serve hot with other side dish this delicious traditional recipe..
