- For spice powder, roast the spices and blend it into fine powder..
- For rasam heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and curry leaves..
- Now add asafetida and mix well. Now add chopped tomatoes. Cook 2-3 min. Now add turmeric and red chilli powder..
- Add water. Now add salt and jaggery. Mix well and let it to come boil. Now add ginger, and dal mix well. Cook it up to 3-4 whistle. Off the flame..
- Now heat oil for tempering, add urad dal, dry red chilli, and garlic. Saute for 1 min..
- Now pour the tempering and spice powder on rasam. Mix well and cook for min. Add coriander leaves. Rasam is ready to serve..
