  1. For spice powder, roast the spices and blend it into fine powder..
  2. For rasam heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and curry leaves..
  3. Now add asafetida and mix well. Now add chopped tomatoes. Cook 2-3 min. Now add turmeric and red chilli powder..
  4. Add water. Now add salt and jaggery. Mix well and let it to come boil. Now add ginger, and dal mix well. Cook it up to 3-4 whistle. Off the flame..
  5. Now heat oil for tempering, add urad dal, dry red chilli, and garlic. Saute for 1 min..
  6. Now pour the tempering and spice powder on rasam. Mix well and cook for min. Add coriander leaves. Rasam is ready to serve..
