Ingredients of Punjabi Channe
- You need 250 gram of white chickpeas (channe).
- You need 1 tsp of tea leaves.
- It's of as required water.
- It's 1 of chopped onion.
- It's 3 of ground tomatoes.
- Prepare 1 of bayleaf.
- Prepare to taste of salt.
- Prepare 1/4 tsp of red chilli powder.
- You need 1 tsp of channa masala.
- Prepare 1 tbsp of tamarind juice.
- It's 1/4 tsp of coriander powder.
- You need 1/4 tsp of garam masala.
Punjabi Channe step by step
- Boil 2 cup of water with 1 tsp of tea leaves. Wash the channas & soak them in cooker with tea leaves water (drain the tea leaves with strainer) Soak them overnight or 4 -5 hours..
- Next day,boil them in the cooker. After a whistle,cook on low flame for 20 minutes..
- Heat oil in a pan with bay leaf. When it becomes brown, add chopped onions & cook till they become golden brown..
- Now add all the ingredients & saute. Add ground tomatoes & cook till oil spreads from corners..
- Open the lid & pour the masala in it with tamarind juice. Cook on low flame till all the water is absorbed..
- Garnish with coriander leaves &serve hot with puri or bathurey..
