- Prepare For of pongal-.
- It's 1 cup of Rice.
- You need 1/2 cup of Yellow split moong dal.
- Prepare 1 tsp of Pepper corns.
- You need 2 of Dry red chillies.
- It's 2 tbsp of Ghee.
- It's 6 cups of Water.
- You need 1 tsp of Cumin seeds.
- Prepare As per taste of Salt.

- It's 1 tsp of Cumin seeds.

- For pongal wash rice and moong dal. Add rice, moong dal, water and salt in pressure cooker and cook it well..
- Meanwhile, in a pan add ghee. When ghee is hot add cumin seeds, pepper and dry red chillies..
- When it splutters add this mixture to the cooked Pongal and mix well..
- For vada soak black eyed beans whole night or atleat 4 to 6 hours..
- Grind the soaked beans with salt. In this add chopped green chillies, onion, ginger, cumin seeds, chilli powder and mix well. If needed add some rice flour at this step..
- In a pan heat oil. When oil is hot take a ball of this mix and shape into round vada on another hand..
- Drop this vadas in hot sizzling oil. Fry it on medium flame until it becomes golden brown..
- Serve Pongal and Vada hot with chutney..
