Ingredients of Chocolate Pongal
- Prepare 1/2 cup of Raw Rice.
- It's 1/4 cup of Yellow Moong Dal / Pasi Paruppu.
- Prepare 2 cups of Water.
- Prepare 1/4 cup of Cocoa Powder.
- It's 3/4 cups of Jaggery.
- It's as needed of Milk.
- You need 1/2 tsp of Cardamom Powder.
- You need 1/4 cup of Ghee.
- You need 10 of Cashews.
- It's 3 tbsp of Raisins.
Chocolate Pongal step by step
- In a pan add moong dal and dry roast for 1 mins. Add in rice roast for 1 mins and mix well..
- Add in water and 1 cup milk and pressure cook for 2 whistle, simmer for 5 mins and turn off the heat. Let the steam go all by itself..
- In a pan add jaggery with water & make syrup..
- Now take the content (cooked rice dal) in a nonstick pan, add in ½ cup milk..
- Add jaggery syrup,cocoa powder and mix well. Keep mixing till it thickens..
- Now add in Ghee little by little and mix well..
- Heat some ghee in a pan,fry cashews and raisans till golden and add it to the pongal..
- Add cardamom powder and mix well. Garnish with Choco chips. Serve..
