Ingredients of Chocolate Pongal

  1. Prepare 1/2 cup of Raw Rice.
  2. It's 1/4 cup of Yellow Moong Dal / Pasi Paruppu.
  3. Prepare 2 cups of Water.
  4. Prepare 1/4 cup of Cocoa Powder.
  5. It's 3/4 cups of Jaggery.
  6. It's as needed of Milk.
  7. You need 1/2 tsp of Cardamom Powder.
  8. You need 1/4 cup of Ghee.
  9. You need 10 of Cashews.
  10. It's 3 tbsp of Raisins.

Chocolate Pongal step by step

  1. In a pan add moong dal and dry roast for 1 mins. Add in rice roast for 1 mins and mix well..
  2. Add in water and 1 cup milk and pressure cook for 2 whistle, simmer for 5 mins and turn off the heat. Let the steam go all by itself..
  3. In a pan add jaggery with water & make syrup..
  4. Now take the content (cooked rice dal) in a nonstick pan, add in ½ cup milk..
  5. Add jaggery syrup,cocoa powder and mix well. Keep mixing till it thickens..
  6. Now add in Ghee little by little and mix well..
  7. Heat some ghee in a pan,fry cashews and raisans till golden and add it to the pongal..
  8. Add cardamom powder and mix well. Garnish with Choco chips. Serve..
