Ingredients of Chicken Masala
- You need 3-4 of onions.
- You need 3-4 of tomatoes.
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of coriander seeds.
- You need 1/2 tsp of fennel seeds.
- You need 1/2 tsp of peppercorn.
- It's 1/2 of cinnamon stick.
- Prepare 3-4 of Cardamoms.
- Prepare 1 of bayleaf.
- It's 1 tsp of Garam masala.
- Prepare 1 tsp of Coriander powder.
- You need 1 tsp of red chilli powder.
- It's 10-15 of cashews.
- Prepare 1 kg of chicken.
- Prepare As needed of Chopped coriander leaves (garnish).
- Prepare As needed of Cream.
- Prepare 1 tsp of Ginger garlic paste.
- You need To taste of Salt.
Chicken Masala step by step
- Marinate the chicken with Ginger garlic paste, salt, red chilli powder. Keep it aside for an hour.
- Chop the onions into slices and chop the tomatoes too..
- Heat pan, dry roast coriander seeds,fennel seeds and peppercorn. Turn off the flame. Let it cool and make a powder out of this..
- Heat oil in a vessel. Put whole garam masalas and then put the chopped onions in this, saute till onions become translucent..
- Put the remaining ginger garlic paste in the vessel and saute till the raw smell goes away. Once it is sauteed put the chopped tomatoes. Saute for a while till the oil separates and tomatoes get mushy..
- Make a paste out of the cashews..
- Put the earlier powdered masala, garam masala, coriander powder and red chilli powder and mix well..
- In a separate pan, sear the chicken in a pan, once done put it in the vessel containing onion tomato masala and mix well..
- Put the cashews paste and some water and let it cook for 10 mins with the lid on the vessel..
- Check taste, Put salt as required. At this stage put the cream in and mix. Heat for few more mins till chicken is cooked..
- Garnish with coriander leaves and mix well. Chicken masala is ready (serve along with chapati/naan).
