Ingredients of Sakkarai Pongal

  1. Prepare 1 cup of pacha arusi.
  2. It's 3/4 cup of paasi paruppu.
  3. Prepare 150 grams of jaggery.
  4. Prepare 3 cups of milk.
  5. Prepare 1 cup of water.
  6. Prepare 50 grams of ghee.
  7. It's 2 teaspoons of cashew nut.
  8. You need 1 teaspoon of raisins.
  9. Prepare 1 teaspoon of cardamon powder.

Sakkarai Pongal instructions

  1. Take a  pressure cooker..
  2. Add  milk and water in it. Add the rice and paruppu to it..
  3. Leave it for 2-3 whistles..
  4. Take a wide open pan, pour water and add jaggery to it..
  5. Strain the jaggery syrup. Smash the cooked rice and add jaggery syrup to it..
  6. Take another pan and add ghee to it..
  7. Roast the cashew and raisins..
  8. Add this to  the pongal and add another 2tsp of  ghee on it..
