Ingredients of Moong Dal Dahi Vada
- You need 1 cup of yellow moong dal.
- You need 1 of green chilli chopped.
- It's 2 tsp of ginger.
- Prepare to taste of Salt.
- It's of Oil for frying.
- It's 2 cups of lukewarm water.
- It's 2 cups of whisked yoghurt.
- It's 1/4 cup of tamarind chutney.
- You need 2 tbsp of green chutney.
- Prepare 1 tsp of roasted cumin powder.
- You need 1/4 tsp of red chilli powder.
- Prepare to taste of Black salt.
- It's 2 tsp of sugar.
- You need of Chopped coriander for garnishing.
Moong Dal Dahi Vada instructions
- Wash and soak the moong dal in enough water for 4-5 hours..
- Strain the water from soaked dal..
- Take this soaked dal in a blender jar, add in the green chilli and ginger to it. Add 2-3 tsp water and grind the dal till it forms a smooth paste..
- Take out this dal mixture in a bowl, add salt. Whisk it for 2-3 minutes..
- Heat oil in a wok on medium flame..
- Now take small-small portions from the dal mixture and put them in heated oil to form fritters..
- Fry these fritters on medium till they starts turning golden brown in colour..
- Take them out and immediately add into the lukewarm water and cover it for 5 minutes..
- After 5 minutes take them out and squeeze out the excess water with light hands..
- Assemble the vadas in a serving dish..
- Add black salt and sugar to the whisked yoghurt and mix well..
- Pour this whisked curd over the vadas. Garnish with tamarind chutney, green chutney, cumin powder, red chilli powder and coroander..
