Ingredients of Moong Dal Dahi Vada

  1. You need 1 cup of yellow moong dal.
  2. You need 1 of green chilli chopped.
  3. It's 2 tsp of ginger.
  4. Prepare to taste of Salt.
  5. It's of Oil for frying.
  6. It's 2 cups of lukewarm water.
  7. It's 2 cups of whisked yoghurt.
  8. It's 1/4 cup of tamarind chutney.
  9. You need 2 tbsp of green chutney.
  10. Prepare 1 tsp of roasted cumin powder.
  11. You need 1/4 tsp of red chilli powder.
  12. Prepare to taste of Black salt.
  13. It's 2 tsp of sugar.
  14. You need of Chopped coriander for garnishing.

Moong Dal Dahi Vada instructions

  1. Wash and soak the moong dal in enough water for 4-5 hours..
  2. Strain the water from soaked dal..
  3. Take this soaked dal in a blender jar, add in the green chilli and ginger to it. Add 2-3 tsp water and grind the dal till it forms a smooth paste..
  4. Take out this dal mixture in a bowl, add salt. Whisk it for 2-3 minutes..
  5. Heat oil in a wok on medium flame..
  6. Now take small-small portions from the dal mixture and put them in heated oil to form fritters..
  7. Fry these fritters on medium till they starts turning golden brown in colour..
  8. Take them out and immediately add into the lukewarm water and cover it for 5 minutes..
  9. After 5 minutes take them out and squeeze out the excess water with light hands..
  10. Assemble the vadas in a serving dish..
  11. Add black salt and sugar to the whisked yoghurt and mix well..
  12. Pour this whisked curd over the vadas. Garnish with tamarind chutney, green chutney, cumin powder, red chilli powder and coroander..
