Ingredients of Sweet Pongal
- It's 100 grams of White rice.
- Prepare 100 grams of Green gram dal.
- It's 200 grams of jaggery.
- It's 1 cup of grated coconut.
- It's 4 tea spoon of ghee.
- Prepare 1 tea spoon of cardamom powder.
- You need of Few cashwe nuts and raisins.
- Prepare 1 ltr of water.
Sweet Pongal step by step
- Take green gram dal and rice, wash both cleanly and add in cooker. Now pour 3/4 ltr water..
- Close the lid and cook until soft in pressure cooker for 4 whistles..
- Heat a pan with 4 tsp of ghee, add cardomom powder 1 teaspoon, cashwe nut and raisins few. Fry them till the cashew nut turn into golden brown..
- Add them into cooked rice-dal..
- Pour remaining 1/4 ltr of water to a frying pan with jaggery. Me used organic jaggery. In a medium flame stir well till melt and turn into syrup. No need of filter this organic jaggery syrup..
- Now add grated coconut..
- Then fried items mixed thoroughly soft cooked white rice and green gram dal..
- Now mix well and cook on a medium flame till the jaggery syrup blends well with rice dal..
- When the bubbles up well, off the flame..
- Stir well till 3 seconds and serve in hot or cool..
