Ingredients of Sweet Pongal
- You need 3/4 cups of Raw rice -.
- You need 3 tbsp of Moong dal -.
- It's 1 cups of Jaggery.
- You need of Cashew nuts 10 nos.
- It's 1 tbsp of Raisins.
- It's 1 pinch of Cardamom powder.
- It's 4 tbsp of Ghee.
- Prepare 1/4 cups of Milk.
Sweet Pongal step by step
- Wash the rice and moongdal and pressure cook both of them together.In a pan,add a tblsp of ghee and fry the cashewnuts and raisins seperately till golden brown..
- Add jaggery in the kadai and add few tblsp of water to it. Stir in between till the jaggery melts and filter the impurities..
- Again heat the jaggery syrup in the kadai for 5 mins. Mash the cooked rice nicely by adding milk to it..
- Add the rice mixture to the jaggery syrup and mix nicely to avoid forming lumps. Keep the stove in low and add ghee, cardamom powder to it..
- Garnish with cashew and raisins and transfer to a serving bowl..
