  1. Wash and soak rice for 1 hr... bring water to boil in a pot and add the soaked rice to it... cook till it is 70% done... drain excess water. Keep aside..
  2. In a separate pot.. Heat ghee and add cloves and green cardamom to it... then add sugar and milk.... stir till the sugar is dissolved completely... then add the cooked rice and mix well... then add the dry fruits and mix till everything is combined well... cover lid... place the pot on a tawa and reduce the flame to slow... let it cook on slow flame/give dum to the zarda for 10 mins. Switch off the flame..
  3. Let the zarda cool..use back of the spoon to over turn the zarda so that u don't get any lumps in the rice..then add the crushed mawa to it (note: use fresh mawa) mix with the back of the spoon....
  4. Garnish with the baby gulab jamuns and serve... do not refrigerate..even if u refrigerate then before serving heat in a microwave for 30 secs..
