  1. It's 1 cup of poha/ flattened rice.
  2. It's 1 cup of powdered sugar.
  3. It's 2 cups of water.
  4. Prepare 1/4 tsp of cardamom powder.
  5. It's 1-2 pinch of orange food colour.
  6. You need 4 tbsp of ghee.
  7. Prepare 5-6 of cashew nuts.
  8. You need 6-8 of raisins.
  9. Prepare Few strands of of kesar.
  10. You need of Silver varak (optional).

Poha Kesari step by step

  1. In a non stick pan dry roast poha for few minutes till it is light brown in colour. Do not over roast it..
  2. Grind the roasted poha in a coarse powder..
  3. Heat 1 tsp ghee in a pan and fry the cashews and raisins till nice golden brown..
  4. Once done take it out on a plate and keep aside..
  5. Heat water in a pan and bring it to boil..
  6. Add the roasted poha powder and mix well so that no lumps are formed..
  7. The poha will be cooked completely when the water is absorbed..
  8. Now add powdered sugar and stir continuously..
  9. Add orange food colour, cardamom powder and mix it well..
  10. Add ghee and keep stirring till the kesari becomes a whole mass without sticking to the sides of the pan..
  11. At last add cashews and raisins, mix well and switch off the flame..
