Ingredients of Ragi-Red Rice halwa

  1. You need 150 gm of Finger Millet/Ragi flour.
  2. You need 120 gm of red rice soaked for 4 hours.
  3. Prepare 100 gm of ghee.
  4. It's 150 gm of jaggery powder/melted if in chunks.
  5. You need Handful of almonds sliced fine.
  6. It's 1 Tb of ground green cardamom powder.

Ragi-Red Rice halwa step by step

  1. Strain the rice soaked completely and dry toast on a non stick pan for 8-10 minutes on medium heat.
  2. Let cool and dry grind it into fine powder.
  3. Melt the ghee in a non stick wok/pan on Low flame.
  4. Add the rice and Ragi flours and blend well and sauté for 5-7 minutes on Low heat.
  5. Add the cardamom powder and jaggery. Mix well and take off heat.
  6. Serve warm/ at room temperature garnished with almonds.
