Ingredients of Indari Appam

  1. It's 1 cup of urad dal.
  2. It's 2 cups of rice flour roasted.
  3. Prepare 11/2 cups of coconut grated.
  4. You need 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds.
  5. You need 4 nos of garlic small.
  6. Prepare 1 tsp of turmeric powder.
  7. Prepare to taste of salt.
  8. It's 1 - 11/2 cups of coconut fried pieces.
  9. It's 3 tbsps of curry leaves fried.

Indari Appam step by step

  1. Soak urad dal for 3-4 hrs and grind to a smooth paste by adding water. To this add grated coconut, garlic, cumin seeds and just grind for few seconds  more. In a bowl add two cups of  roasted rice flour,grinded urad dal mixture, turmeric powder, fried coconut pieces,fried chopped curry leaves and salt. Mix well using enough water (around 2-3  cups). The consistency of the final batter should be the same as of dosa batter. Keep aside for 30 minutes..
  2. After 30 minutes, pour this into a  flat steel plate greased with coconut oil. Steam this for 10 minutes in an idli cooker or appachembu. Once it is done allow it to cool down before removing from the appachembu..
