Spicy Masala Khichdi !! step by step
- Take green split moong dal and rice in a vessel, mix well and wash properly. Soak in water for 15 to 20 mins..
- Pressure cook for 2 whistles and let pressure cooker cool down completely..
- Heat up the oil in a pan on medium flame. Once oil gets heated add mustard seeds and let it crackle. Add bay leaf, cloves and curry leaves. Saute for a second and add sliced onions. Saute till onions turns translucent and then add ginger garlic paste. Mix and cook for a minute..
- Add sliced tomatoes, mix well and cook till tomatoes turns soft. Add green chilli slit. Add in spices like salt, red chilli powder, cumin coriander powder, turmeric powder and garam masala. Mix everything well and cook for 2 minutes..
- Add pressure cooked Khichdi, mix well and further cook for 2 to 3 mins. Add some chopped fresh green coriander leaves, mix well and switch off the flame..
