- Heat oil in a pan, crackle mustard, add asafoetida and turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste and chopped green chilli. Saute for a few seconds and then add tomatoes along with Chilli Powder, dhanajeera powder, garam masala powder and salt. Saute till the tomatoes are tender. Next add rice and sugar. Mix everything well..
