- You need 700 gms of milk.
- Prepare 1/4 cup of rice.
- You need 1/2 cup of sugar.
- You need 4 of almonds shredded.
- You need 6 of green pistachios shredded.

- You need 2-3 of green cardamom powdered.
- You need 2 drops of kewda essence.
- It's Pinch of saffron soaked in 1tbsp of water.
Kesari Phirni step by step
- Soak rice of good quality for about an hour and then grind very fine with 4-5 tableapoons of cold water to a paste..
- Dissolve the rice paste in 1/2 cup milk and make it thin..
- Mix the rice paste with remaining 3 cups milk in a heavy bottomed pan. Cook on medium heat, stirring continuously, till the mixture is of creamy consistency..
- Add sugar and cardamom powder and dissolved saffron and stir..
- Simmer till sugar is fully dissolved and then boil for 1 minute..
- Remove from heat and add kewda essence and half of shedded almonds and pistachios..
- Pour the mixture in the earthen container..
- Chill. Decorate the dish with shredded almond, pistachio, silver leaf, saffron and rose petals..
