Paal Kolukattai (Steamed Rice balls in Coconut Milk) instructions
- Mix the rice flour and salt in a bowl.
- Slowly add water to make a dough.
- Roll out small dough balls and set aside.
- Boil 2 cups of water and once it comes to a boil, add the kolukattais and cook for 15mins.
- To check if the ball is cooked through, press the dough ball and if its not cooked, it will be still doughy.
- Once the kolukattais are cooked, add the jaggery into the pot.
- It should start to disintegrate and thicken the liquid.
- Give this 5 mins and add the coconut milk, grated coconut and cardamom.
