- 1. In a khadai add ghee / oil 2. Add bay leaf cloves peppercorns and cardamom. Fry well till it leaves a nice aroma 3. Add the rice and turmeric/ haldi powder and sauté for 2-3 minutes 4. Add coconut milk and salt as per taste 5. Cover and cook for 10-15 min till the rice is nice and grainy. Keep checking every 5min.
