Ingredients of Mohanthal or Besan Burfi

  1. You need 1 cup of Gram flour (besan).
  2. It's 1/2 cup of mawa.
  3. You need 1/2 cup of ghee.
  4. Prepare 2-3 tbsp of milk.
  5. You need 1 tsp of cardamom powder.
  6. Prepare of Some chopped dry fruits like almonds, cashews, pistachios.
  7. It's of Some poppy seeds for garnishing.
  8. Prepare of For sugar syrup.
  9. It's 1 cup of sugar.
  10. Prepare 3/4 cup of water.

Mohanthal or Besan Burfi step by step

  1. In a bowl add gram flour and 2 tbsp of ghee and mix nicely with ur hands..
  2. Now add 2 to 3 tbsp of milk and knead a dough..Keep aside for 10-15 min..
  3. For sugar syrup..In a pan add sugar and water and bring to a boil.. and after 2 min switch the flame off..
  4. Crumble the dough with hands and heat a pan with ghee and roast it till turns little brown in colour...While stirring continuously..(7-8)min..
  5. Add mawa and combine well and roast for another 4-5 min..
  6. Add dry fruits, cardamom powder.and sugar syrup and stir till it gets thick in consistency..Or starts leaving from pan..
  7. Grease a plate with little ghee and pour this mixture into it and spread evenly using a flat spatula..
  8. Sprinkle some pistachios, almonds and poppy seeds evenly over it and pat it lightly..
  9. Keep aside or let it cool completely for 1 -2 hours..
  10. Cut into equal sized pieces of ur choice..
