Ingredients of Besan Mava Barfi

  1. Prepare 150 gm of gram flour.
  2. Prepare 120 gm of Mava/khoya/milk solid.
  3. It's 200 gm of Powder sugar.
  4. It's 2 tablespoon of Green cardamom powder.
  5. You need 150 gm of Ghee.
  6. It's 100 gm of pistachios sliced fine.
  7. Prepare as needed of cashews chopped roughly.

Besan Mava Barfi step by step

  1. Grease the tray/ box in which you would want to set the barfis.
  2. Heat a non stick pan and add the Mava to it by crumbling it slightly.
  3. Mava starts to melt and finally soft.
  4. Keep stirring on Low heat once the Mava turns into a smooth mixture and take off heat.
  5. Place the Mava in a bowl.
  6. Now place the pan back on heat and add the ghee to melt.
  7. Once done, add the gram flour and keep stirring constantly to get a lump free mixture.
  8. Add sugar once you see no lumps.
  9. The mixture will start to turn liquidy as the sugar mix.
  10. Keep stirring constantly as the mixture comes together(this could take a while).
  11. Once you see no bubbles in the mixture,take the pan off heat.
  12. Add the cardamom powder and half the nuts.
  13. Mix well and layer the mixture well in the greased tray.
  14. Sprinkle the remaining nuts on the surface and gently press down with a spatula.
  15. While not hot, but slightly warm, cut into barfi pieces and allow to cool completely.
  16. Besan Mava barfi are ready to be relished!.
  17. Store the leftovers airtight and refrigerated.
