Ingredients of Besan Mava Barfi
- Prepare 150 gm of gram flour.
- Prepare 120 gm of Mava/khoya/milk solid.
- It's 200 gm of Powder sugar.
- It's 2 tablespoon of Green cardamom powder.
- You need 150 gm of Ghee.
- It's 100 gm of pistachios sliced fine.
- Prepare as needed of cashews chopped roughly.
Besan Mava Barfi step by step
- Grease the tray/ box in which you would want to set the barfis.
- Heat a non stick pan and add the Mava to it by crumbling it slightly.
- Mava starts to melt and finally soft.
- Keep stirring on Low heat once the Mava turns into a smooth mixture and take off heat.
- Place the Mava in a bowl.
- Now place the pan back on heat and add the ghee to melt.
- Once done, add the gram flour and keep stirring constantly to get a lump free mixture.
- Add sugar once you see no lumps.
- The mixture will start to turn liquidy as the sugar mix.
- Keep stirring constantly as the mixture comes together(this could take a while).
- Once you see no bubbles in the mixture,take the pan off heat.
- Add the cardamom powder and half the nuts.
- Mix well and layer the mixture well in the greased tray.
- Sprinkle the remaining nuts on the surface and gently press down with a spatula.
- While not hot, but slightly warm, cut into barfi pieces and allow to cool completely.
- Besan Mava barfi are ready to be relished!.
- Store the leftovers airtight and refrigerated.
