Ingredients of Saffron Kheer
- It's 1 ltr of milk (warm).
- It's 100 gms of Basmati rice.
- Prepare 80 gms of Sugar.
- Prepare Pinch of salt.
- It's 2 tsp of ghee.
- Prepare 7-8 of Saffron strands.
- It's As needed of Roughly chopped cashews, almonds and pistachios.
- Prepare 1 tsp of cardamom powder.
- Prepare To taste of Dry rose petals.
Saffron Kheer step by step
- Wash and soak rice in water. Soak saffron in 2 tbsp of warm milk and keep aside..
- Heat a heavy bottomed pan. Add ghee and let it melt..
- Add soaked rice and stir for 2 minutes on a low to medium flame..
- Now add the warm milk to it and mix..
- Let it boil, stir occasionally. Reduce the flame and cook till it's thick and creamy..
- Add soaked saffron milk and cardamom powder and stir well..
- Cook till the rice softens. Add chopped dry fruits and keep stirring..
- Add sugar, salt and cook for few more minutes. And it's ready..
- Garnish with dry rose petals. Serve warm or chilled as per your preference..
