Gujiya step by step

  1. Take a big bowl add maida,sooji,baking powder & ghee..
  2. Knead it with lukewarm water to make a soft dough..
  3. Keep it aside for 20 minutes.
  4. Take a pan,add dessicated coconut & khoya in it,Roast for 10 min on low flame..
  5. When it turns little brown in colour turn off the flame..
  6. Take another pan,add nuts,almonds & roast them on a medium flame..
  7. Let them cool down & put it in a mixie..
  8. Grind it to make a powder of it..
  9. Add this powder to mixture of roasted coconut & khoya,add milk,sugar in it & let it boil..
  10. Switch off the flame when everything is mix well & become a smooth paste..
  11. Take a small size of dough &give it round shape,Do this with rest of dough..
  12. Roll it on rolling board &give it circle shape.
  13. Put some stuffing in the centre..
  14. Fold gujjiya in to half,Apply water on the edges & seal them with fork..
  15. We can also use gujjiya mould to give them perfect shape..
  16. Now take a pan,add water,sugar,green cardamon & kesar strands or a pinch of yellow colour.Boil them until they become thick..
  17. Take a Karahi,pour desi ghee in it..
  18. Deep fry the gujjiya one by one till they become little brown in colour..
  19. Take them out &put on tissue paper.Dil the gujjiya in syrup for few seconds..
  20. They r ready to serve..
