Kottayam Style Fish Curry step by step
- Make a paste of red chilli powder and turmeric powder by adding little water.Keep aside..
- Heat oil in a manchatti.Splutter mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds.Add small onion,garlic,ginger and curry leaves.Saute till the raw smell goesand small onion starts changing colour.Then add the masala paste.Saute well.Add kudumpuli along with water used for soaking.Add 1 1/2 cups of water..Add enough salt also.Cover and let the curry boil,Keep in high flame..
- When the curry boils,add fish pieces.Swirl the pan once.Cover and cook in high flame till the curry boils just once more.Then simmer the flame to medium and cook for 20 mints till the gravy thickens.Serve with kappa/staemes rice..
- Note:this curry tastes best when used next day..
