- It's 2 of tbn lentils of your choice.
- Prepare 1 of tbn jaggery powder.
- You need 50 gm of dates.
- It's 5 of tbn plain milk.
- It's 1 of tbn ghee/1 tbn olive oil.
- It's 1-2 of almonds blanched and sliced.

- Soak the lentils and dates for 30 minutes in warm water.
- Strain and keep the daal and reserve the date syrup.
- In a saucepan, add milk and daal and let it come to boil.
- Once done, add the jaggery, dates and mix well..
- Let the mix simmer on Low heat for 5-10 minutes till the daal is slightly soft, stirring occasionally, not to burn the ingredients.
- Take of heat once done and let cool.
- Add the entire ingredients into a blender and blend smooth.
- Heat oil/Melt ghee in a saucepan and add the mix.
- Add the date syrup and cook until the halwa/porridge has reached a desired consistency or the syrup has completely been absorbed.
- Serve warm garnished with sliced almonds (optional).
- Tips:You may choose to cook with any lentils of your choice or a mix of lentils too..
- Tip:Add a tbn of powdered nuts before feeding babies instead of whole chopped nuts and check for allergic reactions to nuts before using powder them.
- Use breast/formula milk in case of babies under 1 year of age for this recipe.
