Ingredients of Dahi Vada

  1. It's 250 gm of Udad dal.
  2. You need to taste of Salt.
  3. You need as needed of Oil for frying.
  4. It's 1 inch of ginger.
  5. You need as needed of Water.
  6. It's of For garnishing.
  7. It's 500 gm of curd (dahi).
  8. It's to taste of Salt.
  9. Prepare as needed of Red chilli powder (lal mirch).
  10. You need as needed of Cumin powder (jeera).
  11. Prepare to taste of Black salt (kala namak).
  12. You need to taste of Chaat masala.
  13. It's as needed of leaves Coriander.
  14. Prepare as needed of Curry leaves powder (kadi patta).

Dahi Vada instructions

  1. Wash & soak udad dal in water for 3-4 hours. Later grind dal with ginger and salt to make a thick batter..
  2. Add oil to a pan & heat it on medium flame for frying vada's. Take lemon size batter with the help of spoon & slowly drop it into the hot oil. Can fry 4 to 5 vada's in one batch. Deep fry it for some time & then turn it till it becomes golden brown. Remove these vada's into a bowl of water..
  3. Repeat the process for frying remaining vada's & soak them in water for half an hour. Then remove it gently & press them between palms to remove the excess water..
  4. Now take curd, add salt mix & beat it nicely so that there are no lumps..
  5. To make dahi vada place the vada in a serving bowl & pour the curd evenly all over the vada's & cover them completely..
  6. As per your choice sprinkle little chaat masala, jeera powder, red chilli powder, curry leaves powder, kala namak & coriander leaves. Your dahi vada is ready. Can also be served with tamarind & green chutney..
