Dal paratha/ lentil stuffed paratha. lentil stuffing is made spicy whereas in puran poli the stuffing is sweet by mixing it with jaggery or sugar. hence i personally like the dal ka paratha recipe compared to the traditional veggie stuffed. so in a single attempt, i can prepare both puran poli and dal paratha recipe by having separate sweet. dal paratha recipe with step by step photos. usually this chana dal paratha is served for breakfast. this is making dal paratha stuffing. The lentils should be cooked well and yet stay separate. Dal paratha recipe - made with cooked dal and atta, these taste delicious and are a very healthy food especially for growing kids.

Ingredients of Dal paratha/ lentil stuffed paratha

  1. You need 1 bowl of Yellow pulses (dal).
  2. You need 2 cup of Wheat flour.
  3. It's 1/2 tsp of Turmeric powder.
  4. It's 1 of Chopped onion.
  5. Prepare as needed of Coriander leaves /cilantro a few leaves.
  6. You need 2 tbsp of Peanut butter*.
  7. Prepare to taste of Salt.
  8. You need 2 of Green chillies.
  9. It's 3-4 tbsp of Clarified butter/desi ghee.

Paratha is a common term used for Indian flat-bread prepared with wheat flour and dal ka paratha means Indian flat-bread prepared with leftover lentils. Dal paratha/ lentil stuffed paratha instructions

  1. First of all seive the flour then add cooked pulses(dal),chopped onion,coriander/cilantro leaves, green chillies, salt, turmeric powder,a spoon of clarified butter/ghee and make a semi thicken soft dought by adding little bit of water as required..can add some dry flour either yo'r dough remains extra soft..give a rest of 15 minutes to set the dough by covering it with a damp(wet) muslin cloth.
  2. Make slightly big balls out of the dough and start rolling them.
  3. For this take a dough ball and flatten it on the flattening board,dust some dry flour and roll it as a small chapatti then grease it with drop of ghee and apply peanut butter with the help of a cuttlary knife(this will give a nutty flavour to yo'r paratha) then fold it from both sides and again fold from both side and make a square shape.
  4. Flatten it as a square paratha by dusting little flour on the flattening surface..the paratha must be slightly thick.
  5. Heat a non stick skillet or an iron tawa and place the flatten paratha on it.
  6. Cook it from both sides by flipping (turning upside down),then apply clarified butter/desi ghee and fry it nicely..make all the paratha with same cooking process.
  7. Yo'r dal paratha r now done..cut into half diagonally..apply few drops of ghee.
  8. Serve hot with curd/butter and with a cup of tea/coffee or yo'r favorite milk shake.
