Ingredients of Dahi vada

  1. Prepare 2 cup of Urad dal / black gram lentils.
  2. You need 2 cup of moong dal / yeloow lentls.
  3. You need 1 tsp of Baking soda.
  4. You need of as per taste Salt.
  5. You need 2 tbsp of Sugar.
  6. Prepare 1-1/2 tsp of Green chilli and ginger paste.
  7. It's 5 cups of Dahi / curd.
  8. It's 2 tbsp of Green chutney.
  9. Prepare 4 tbsp of Meethi chutney / sweet dip.
  10. You need 1 tsp of Red chilli powder.
  11. Prepare 1 tsp of Roasted cumin seeds powder.
  12. It's 1 tsp of Chat masala.
  13. It's 1 tbsp of Coriander leaves.
  14. Prepare 1 tbsp of Pomegranate seeds for garnishing(optional).
  15. It's 5-7 of Roasted cashewnuts: for garnishing.

Dahi Vada Recipe: 'melt in your mouth' dahi vada / dahi bhalla recipe (fried Indian lentil dumplings), that's served with Dahi Vada Recipe is also known as Dahi Bhalla, Dahi Bada or Dahi Bhalla Chaat. The terms dahi vada and dahi bhalle are often used interchangeably in different parts of the country. In my home we always called them "dahi vada" whereas hubby calls them "dahi bhalle". Dahi vada instructions

  1. First of all wash urad dal and moong dal 2 to 3 times. Then after soak both the dal for 3 to 4 hours. Drain out water from it. Now coarsely blend it in mixy and make a smooth batter. Check out that batter should be very fluffy and light texture wise..
  2. Add salt and green chilli and ginger paste to it. Now beat the paste for 3 to 5 minutes continuously by adding baking soda to it. Keep it aside for 10 minutes. Again stir this batter occasionally..
  3. Now heat the pan. Add oil to it. Make medium size vadas and deep fry it on medium flame. Now drop all the vadas in lukewarm water. Let it be in water for 10 minutes..
  4. Now squeeze between palms to remove water from wadas. Arrange it in a plate. Now take dahi and beat it or whip it continuously till it becomes semi liquid paste(batter). Now add salt and sugar to it and mix it well..
  5. Take a plate. Arrange wadas. Pour dahi on it. Now garnish it with meetha chutney,green chutney,cumin powder,red chilli powder,coriander leaves,chat masala,pomegranate and cashewnuts. And enjoy this mouthwatering dish friends..
