Ingredients of Dahi Vada
- You need 1 cup of urad daal / black gram.
- It's 1 of finely chopped onion.
- You need 5 of finely chopped green chillies.
- It's 1/2 " of Finely chopped ginger.
- It's 1/4 tsp of Turmeric powder.
- Prepare 1 tsp of chopped coriander leaves.
- You need 1 cup of whisked curd.
- Prepare as per taste of Salt.
- Prepare as needed of Oil for deep frying vada.
- You need as needed of Few curry leaves.
- You need 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds.
- You need 1/4 tsp of jeera / cumin.
- You need 5 of crushed garlic pods.
- It's A Pinch of hing / asafoetida.
Dahi Vada step by step
- Wash and Soak Urad daal for 4-5 hours. Drain the water completely and grind it finely with little salt by adding few tsp of water and remove it in a bowl.
- Now add finely chopped onions, giner, coriander, green chillies and mix well..
- Take a big kadai and pour enough oil for deep frying and make vadas and fry it in oil till light golden colour both the sides and remove and keep it aside.
- Mean while make tadka in a pan : first heat the oil, add mustard seeds, jeera, crushed garlic pods,curry leaves, turmeric and hing and put off the stove. To this pan add whisked curd and mix well by adding little water and salt..
- Now add the vadas in to the curd and let it sit for 10 to 15 mins. Garnish with chopped coriander or khara boondi and serve..
