Ingredients of Mawa Gulab Jamun

  1. It's 250 grams of mawa/khoya (crumbled).
  2. It's 1/2 cup of all purpose flour/maida.
  3. It's 1 pinch of baking soda.
  4. Prepare 1/4 cup of warm milk.
  5. Prepare 1 1/2 cup of sugar.
  6. You need 2 cups of water.
  7. Prepare 1/2 tsp of rose water.
  8. It's 1/4 tsp of cardamom powder.
  9. It's of Oil/ghee for deep frying.

Mawa Gulab Jamun instructions

  1. Firstly, heat a pan over medium flame. Add sugar, water, cardamom powder and rose water. Stir and let it boil until sugar syrup gets little sticky. Switch off the flame and keep aside..
  2. Now take mawa, baking soda and all purpose flour in a mixing bowl. Mix and crumble it well..
  3. Add in the warm milk..
  4. Mix and knead a soft and smooth dough..
  5. Divide the dough into 20 equal portions and make smooth balls without any crack on it..
  6. Heat oil or ghee on low medium flame. Add the dough balls and fry them till brown in colour on low medium heat..
  7. Drain and transfer them to warm sugar syrup. Soak the jamuns in sugar syrup for atleast 2 hours..
  8. Delicious gulab jamuns are ready to serve..
