Paneer Tikka Masala (Restaurant style) instructions

  1. Take thick yoghurt in a bowl, add all the marinade ingredients except paneer, onions and peppers. Mix well..
  2. Now add paneer and veggies. Coat all of them with marinade..
  3. Cover it and let it marinade for atleast 30-45 minutes..
  4. Heat a generous amount of oil in a wide pan. When the oil is heated, arrange the tikka pieces in a single layer. Cook on one side, flip and cook on the other side till it gets light brown..
  5. Remove it to a plate and keep it aside. You can cook the tikka in oven as well..
  6. Heat the oil in a pan on medium heat, once hot, add cumin seeds and let them sizzle..
  7. Mix in chopped onions, sprinkle some salt to speed up the process. Cook till onions are soft and light brown in colour..
  8. Saute ginger garlic paste for a minute..
  9. Then mix in tomato puree and cook till all the moisture evaporates and oil starts to ooze out..
  10. Add turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and red chilli powder. Mix and cook for a minute..
  11. Add water to make gravy consistency and simmer for 5 minutes..
  12. Stir in garam masala and kasoori methi..
  13. Add cooked paneer tikka and stir..
