Ingredients of Mutton Biriyani
- It's 2 cups of Basmati Rice (I used seeraka samba rice).
- Prepare 3 cups of Mutton chopped.
- You need 1 cup of Curd.
- Prepare 1 of Tomato.
- Prepare 2 of Onion.
- Prepare handful of Mint leaves.
- It's 7 of Green chilli.
- Prepare 10 of Garlic.
- It's 10 of shallots.
- Prepare 3 tbsps of ginger paste.
- You need 2 tsps of Red chilli powder.
- Prepare 1/2 tsp of pepper powder.
- It's 1 tsp of coriander powder.
- You need to taste of salt (i added 1 1/2 tsp).
- You need 2 tsps of ghee.
- Prepare 4 cups of water.
- You need 1/2 of lemon.
Mutton Biriyani instructions
- Fine chop onions and tomatoes and keep aside.
- Grind garlic, ginger and shallots to a smooth paste.
- Combine curd, red chilli powder, pepper powder, coriander powder and salt.
- Wash Rice and soak for half an hour.
- Add ghee in pressure cooker. When ghee is hot, Add the green chilli and close the cooker with a lid for 1 minute till the green chilli burst open in the ghee. Then add Chopped onion and saute till its translucent. Add ginger-garlic-shallot paste and saute till oil separates out.
- Add chopped tomatoes and saute till tomatoes are completely cooked. Add mint leaves and the ingredients from step 3 and saute for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add water, rice and mutton to the cooker. stir well till all the spices, rice and mutton gets combined well.
- Pressure cook for 4 whistles. Garnish with coriander leaves and sliced lemon.
- Serve hot with raita.
