Ingredients of Mutton Biriyani

  1. It's 2 cups of Basmati Rice (I used seeraka samba rice).
  2. Prepare 3 cups of Mutton chopped.
  3. You need 1 cup of Curd.
  4. Prepare 1 of Tomato.
  5. Prepare 2 of Onion.
  6. Prepare handful of Mint leaves.
  7. It's 7 of Green chilli.
  8. Prepare 10 of Garlic.
  9. It's 10 of shallots.
  10. Prepare 3 tbsps of ginger paste.
  11. You need 2 tsps of Red chilli powder.
  12. Prepare 1/2 tsp of pepper powder.
  13. It's 1 tsp of coriander powder.
  14. You need to taste of salt (i added 1 1/2 tsp).
  15. You need 2 tsps of ghee.
  16. Prepare 4 cups of water.
  17. You need 1/2 of lemon.

Mutton Biriyani instructions

  1. Fine chop onions and tomatoes and keep aside.
  2. Grind garlic, ginger and shallots to a smooth paste.
  3. Combine curd, red chilli powder, pepper powder, coriander powder and salt.
  4. Wash Rice and soak for half an hour.
  5. Add ghee in pressure cooker. When ghee is hot, Add the green chilli and close the cooker with a lid for 1 minute till the green chilli burst open in the ghee. Then add Chopped onion and saute till its translucent. Add ginger-garlic-shallot paste and saute till oil separates out.
  6. Add chopped tomatoes and saute till tomatoes are completely cooked. Add mint leaves and the ingredients from step 3 and saute for 2 to 3 minutes.
  7. Add water, rice and mutton to the cooker. stir well till all the spices, rice and mutton gets combined well.
  8. Pressure cook for 4 whistles. Garnish with coriander leaves and sliced lemon.
  9. Serve hot with raita.
