- Soak chana dal for 1 hour in Lukewarm water. Drain out the water and cook the dal in a pressure cooker til 3-4 whistles and till the dal becomes mushy..
- Once done grind in a mixer jar to remove lumps. Add in a kadhai or non stick pan..
- Switch on flame and add jaggery powder.
- Also add the sugar. Mix and cook well until the jaggery has dissolved completely.
- When the mixture is thick. Add cardamom powder and mix well..
- Check here for sweetness and add as required. Add some ghee and keep mixing, everything will come together, when done..
- It will form a dough. Let the mixture cool completely.
- In the meantime prepare Poli dough by mixing and kneading all ingredients mentioned under the poli section. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes..
- Make small ball of puran and keep ready.
- Pinch a big lemon sized dough and roll elongated thin roti. Keep one ball in centre..
- Cover the puran ball with the poli. With the help of a small katori/ cup cut the poli dough, without touching the poli ball. Remove extra dough..
- Tap with fingers and roll out circular roti evenly by mildly pressing it..
- Roast in hot tawa from both sides. Add ghee and serve hot..
