  3. You need 11/2 glass of Water.

  5. Prepare 2 pinches of Salt.
  6. Prepare For of the puranpoli style stuffing :.
  7. It's 1/2 cup of Chana dal (washed and soaked for an hour).
  8. It's 4 tsp of Jaggery powdered (adjust to taste).
  9. Prepare 1/4 tsp of Cardamom powder.
  10. You need 2 tbspn of Freshly grated coconut.
  11. It's 1 tbsp of Ghee.

  1. Take a pressure cooker and put the chana dal and pressure cook it for 1 whistle. Then reduce the flame and let it cook for 2 minutes.Then turn off the gas..
  2. Once it cools down take the chana dal and strain it.Then grind it in a mixer..
  3. Now take a pan put ghee.when hot add the ground dal mixture.Put the jaggery powder and coconut.Cook it till it gets mixed well.Add cardamom powder.Turn off the gas..
  4. Now to make the modak take a vessel/pan and keep the water for boiling.Put salt and once boiled add little ghee and switch off the gas..
  5. Now put the rice flour in the vessel/pan and mix well.Then close it with a lid and let it rest for 5 mins.Later knead the rice flour to a smooth dough.Keep it aside..
  6. Now take the modak moulds and grease it with ghee.Then take a lemon sized ball.Press it with your palm and put it inside the mould..
  7. Gently press it with your fingers.And put little chana dal filling.And close the base of the modak with a small thin piece of kneaded rice flour.Just seal it from all sides and make it smooth..
  8. Gently open the mould,Remove it carefully and keep it on a plate.Make the rest similarly..
  9. Now steam these modaks for 5 to 7 minutes.Take it out when cool..
  10. Enjoy the modak.Ready to be served to Lord Ganesh..
