Ingredients of Bele Obattu
- Prepare 1 cup of Split chickpeas(Chana dal) - Soaked and boiled.
- It's 1/4 cup of Chopped Coconut.
- Prepare 3 cup of All purpose flour (Maida).
- Prepare 1/2 cup of Jaggery.
- It's 1/2 tsp of Baking powder.
- You need 4 of Cardamom pods.
- Prepare of Ghee /oil as required.
- It's 1/2 tsp of Turmeric powder.
Bele Obattu step by step
- Take a mixing bowl add All purpose flour (Maida),Baking powder turmeric, 2 tsp ghee and mix it and add water little by little and knead it to a soft and smooth dough and let it rest for 30 minutes..
- For stuffing Take a mixing jar add boiled split chickpeas, chopped coconut,Jaggery, cardamom and grind it without adding water. Then transfer the split chickpeas mixture to a bowl and make balls for stuffing..
- Take medium sized portions from the all purpose flour (Maida) dough and flatten it and roll it. Place the split chickpeas stuffing in the middle and cover the stuffing with maida dough..
- Grease oil on a rolling plate and rolling pin and gently roll the Stuffed maida dough by a rolling pin..
- Heat a pan grease oil and place the obattu and cook it on both sides by flipping it..
- Serve with payasam (Kheer)..
