- Prepare 1 cup of For Appam - idli rice.
- It's 1/4 cup of grated coconut.
- You need 1/2 tsp of sugar and salt.
- You need Pinch of backing soda.

- Prepare as reqquired of For stew - vegetable like tomato,potato,sweet potato.
- You need of Green pea.
- Prepare as required of Onion.

Appam with vegetable stew instructions
- Step 1 For Appam.... firstly, grind soaked 1 cup idli rice along with ¼ cup coconut. take 2 tbsp of prepared batter and pour over pan along with ½ cup water. make sure the flame is off..
- Mix well making sure there are no lumps. cover and ferment in warm place for 8 hours. add in sugar,salt and baking soda..
- Heat kadai or pan or appachatti over medium flame and pour a batter into the kadai. immediately twirl the pan to spread the batter in a circle motion.like this..
- Further cover and simmer for about 2 minutes or until the edges turn golden brown and gets cooked completely..
- Step 2 For stew.....
- Heat coconut oil in the pan add in cardamom, black pepper,cloves and curry leaves.add garlic and green chilli..
- Add the vegetables, i m using potato,onion,tomato,sweet potato you add any vegetable as you like.add thin coconut milk and salt to taste. Cover and cook till the vegetables are soft, around 10 minutes.Open the lid, add more coconut milk Let it simmer for a couple more minute.
