Chicken pulao instructions

  1. Wash chicken,cut onion and tometoes.
  2. Assemble all ingredients.
  3. Take a large pan / pateela and heat oil.
  4. Add onions and fry till golden brown.
  5. Meanwhile wash rice and soak in normal water.
  6. Add spices and little water..
  7. Now add chicken.
  8. Cook untill it changes it's colour and water is dreid.
  9. Now add tometoes and mix them.
  10. Cover the lid for 5 minutes.
  11. After that stirr it and cook on medium flame until tometoes are soft and completely mixed.
  12. Now add water (double in rice quantity) cover the lid to boil water.
  13. When water starts boiling add soaked rice(drain the water first).
  14. Stir spoon carefully.
  15. Keep stirring occasionally.at this point your can check salt and add more if needed.
  16. When water is dried slow down it's flame.
  17. Set tawa on dam and low the flame.tawa will prevent rice from burning.
  18. Wrap lid with a thick cloth little wet...or according to rice condition..if they are hard you can completely wet the cloth and in case rice are soft no need to wet it.
  19. Place some weight on pateela...
  20. After 10 minutes turn off the flame..after few minutes open it and check your rice they are ready to serve.
  21. Serve with raita or pickle as you like.
