Oats Haleem. Chicken Oats Haleem By Dr Shemmi N K. Haleem is a stewed dish popular in the Middle East, Central and Southern Asia. It consists of meat usually cooked with lentils, wheat and barley.

Oats Haleem Add water as required to achieve desired consistency. Hyderabadi haleem now has its vegetarian,sweet and healthy variations. It is made with lamb/beef/chicken/fish/emu meats. but the traditional version popular in Hyderabad is the one made with lamb meat. You can have Oats Haleem using 27 ingredients and 9 steps. Here is how you achieve it.

Ingredients of Oats Haleem

  1. You need of Ingredients for yakhni :-.
  2. Prepare 350 g of Beef with bones.
  3. It's 1 of Onion medium.
  4. It's of Cinnamon stick 2.
  5. You need 2 of Bari Elaichi.
  6. You need of Adrak 2 inch piece.
  7. Prepare of Garlic cloves 6.
  8. It's of Bay leaves 3.
  9. It's 8 of Black pepper corns.
  10. You need Cloves of 5.
  11. Prepare to taste of Salt.
  12. Prepare 2 litres of Water.
  13. Prepare of Oats haleem ingredients:-.
  14. You need 1.5 cup of Steel cut oats.
  15. You need 1/2 cup of Oil.
  16. You need of Onion 1 medium.
  17. Prepare 1/2 cup of Yogurt.
  18. You need to taste of Salt.
  19. You need 1 tsp of Red chilli powder.
  20. You need 2 tsp of Dhaniya powder.
  21. It's 1/4 tsp of Haldi.
  22. Prepare 1/2 tsp of Garam masala powder.
  23. Prepare 1/4 tsp of Chaat masala.
  24. You need of Garnishing :-.
  25. Prepare 1/4 tsp of Chaat masala.
  26. It's 1 tbsp of Ginger julienne.
  27. You need of Podina leaves as required.

I am posting two versions of Haleem- the traditional one and a healthier one with oats. The healthier version recipe is my aunt-inlaw's. Dish out the haleem and garnish with ½ tablespoon clarified butter or pure ghee, chopped mint leaves, chopped coriander, fried onions and fried cashews. Oats Mutton Haleem is ready to be served.

Oats Haleem instructions

  1. Take a big pot and put all the yakhni ingredients together..
  2. Let the yakhni cook for 2 hours until beef is soft.
  3. Strain the yakhni and set aside the stock.
  4. Now in a pot add oil and fry onions until golden..
  5. Add beef from yakhni and cook well. Add yogurt to it and mix well for 5 minutes..
  6. Add all the mentioned spices and oats and fill up yhe pot with strained yakhni.
  7. Let it cook until oats are fully cooked. You can add more water if needed..
  8. Garnish with podina adrak and chaat masala..
  9. Serve hot and enjoy either with just a spoon or naan😍.
