Masala Aloo Puri. A perfect combination to enjoy this crispy, and delicious flavour of puffed Puris with any pickle or sabji. Aloo Masala Puri is a very popular Indian breakfast dish. They are more delicious when they are served hot, it's easy to make and they are tummy filling breakfast.

Ingredients of Masala Aloo Puri

  1. It's of For Aloo Sabzi.
  2. It's 2 cup of boiled potatoes cubes.
  3. It's 1 of onion chopped.
  4. You need 1 cup of tomatoes chopped.
  5. Prepare 2 tsp of garlic chopped.
  6. It's 1 tsp of ginger chopped.
  7. You need 1 tsp of green chilles chopped.
  8. It's 1 tbsp of oil.
  9. It's 1 tsp of Red chilli powder.
  10. It's 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder.
  11. You need 1/2 tsp of garam masala.
  12. It's 1/2 tsp of dry mango powder.
  13. Prepare 1/2 tsp of Cumin seeds.
  14. Prepare 1/2 tsp of Coriander powder.
  15. Prepare to taste of Salt.
  16. You need 2 tsp of Coriander leaves chopped.
  17. You need of for puris.
  18. You need 1 cup of whole wheat flour.
  19. You need 2 tsp of oil.
  20. It's 1/4 tsp of salt.
  21. Prepare 1/4 tsp of carom seeds (Ajwain).
  22. It's 1/2 tsp of crushed fenugreek leaves.
  23. You need as needed of Oil for deep frying.
  24. You need as needed of Water for dough.

The recipe shared here is a South Indian style dish made in most homes and tiffin centers. Poori masala makes for a good breakfast or lunch or brunch. When I took the pics, I had also made aamras to go along with the pooris. The combo of aamras and any potato sabji with pooris is too good.

Masala Aloo Puri step by step

  1. (For Aloo Sabzi):-- Heat oil in a pan or kadai. Add cumin seeds saute for a second add onions, garlic, ginger, greenchilles and saute for few minutes on a medium flame. Add tomatoes mix well and cook 3-4 minutes..
  2. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, Coriander powder, garam masala, dry mango powder and 1/2 cup water,mix well.cook for 2-3 minutes..
  3. Now add boiled potato cubes, salt, Coriander leaves and 1/2 cup water mix well and cook on medium flame for 5 minutes..
  4. (For puris):- Take a bowl add wheat flour, salt, oil, carom seeds, dried fenugreek leaves combine well add water and knead stiff dough..
  5. Cover and keep aside for 10 minutes..
  6. Divide the dough into equal portions make balls and roll out into round puri shape..
  7. Heat oil in a deep kadhai or pan fry puris till they turn golden brown in colour from both sides..
  8. Drain the puris on kitchn napkins..
  9. Serve the hot puris with aloo sabzi with Raita...

You can serve potato masala with Poori or chapati or with a side of chopped onions or coconut chutney.
