- Prepare For of the Ukadiche Modak :.
- You need 4 heaped tbsp of Rice flour.
- It's 11/2 glass of Water.
- You need 1-2 tsp of Ghee.
- Prepare 2 pinches of Salt.
- Prepare For of the puranpoli style stuffing :.
- Prepare 1/2 cup of Chana dal (washed and soaked for an hour).
- You need 4 tsp of Jaggery powdered (adjust to taste).
- It's 1/4 tsp of Cardamom powder.
- It's 2 tbspn of Freshly grated coconut.
- Prepare 1 tbsp of Ghee.

- Take a pressure cooker and put the chana dal and pressure cook it for 1 whistle. Then reduce the flame and let it cook for 2 minutes.Then turn off the gas..
- Once it cools down take the chana dal and strain it.Then grind it in a mixer..
- Now take a pan put ghee.when hot add the ground dal mixture.Put the jaggery powder and coconut.Cook it till it gets mixed well.Add cardamom powder.Turn off the gas..
- Now to make the modak take a vessel/pan and keep the water for boiling.Put salt and once boiled add little ghee and switch off the gas..
- Now put the rice flour in the vessel/pan and mix well.Then close it with a lid and let it rest for 5 mins.Later knead the rice flour to a smooth dough.Keep it aside..
- Now take the modak moulds and grease it with ghee.Then take a lemon sized ball.Press it with your palm and put it inside the mould..
- Gently press it with your fingers.And put little chana dal filling.And close the base of the modak with a small thin piece of kneaded rice flour.Just seal it from all sides and make it smooth..
- Gently open the mould,Remove it carefully and keep it on a plate.Make the rest similarly..
- Now steam these modaks for 5 to 7 minutes.Take it out when cool..
- Enjoy the modak.Ready to be served to Lord Ganesh..
