Try this Shahi Tukda on this. i personally do not like this bread pudding or shahi tukda recipe, just because i feel it is extremely sweet. having said that, this is my husband's favourite dessert recipe and he has a strong craving for it. i even prepare it with milk rusk or even with normal rusk for him and he even enjoys it. You can cook Shahi bread / tukda / toast using 5 ingredients and 12 steps. Here is how you achieve it.

Ingredients of Shahi bread / tukda / toast

  1. It's as nedded of White breads slice - Take pieces.
  2. You need as needed of Sugar syrup - 1 taar ki chasni- To deep fried slices.
  3. It's as per need of Fresh malai/cream/condensed milk.
  4. Prepare 1/2 tsp or as needed of Dry fruits, elaichi powder etc.
  5. You need as per need of Ghee for frying.

Shahi tukda is rich mughlai dessert which is made in many ways. While traditional recipe is pretty long and tedious, this version of shahi tukda is easy and can be made in minutes. Also traditional recipe calls for deep frying the bread but to make this dish little less in calories I pan toasted bread. Deep frying in ghee gives the original royal taste, but if you are calorie conscious, just toast in a OTG or bread toaster till golden brown.

Shahi bread / tukda / toast step by step

  1. Cut in triangular shape all bread slices or your desired shape..
  2. Deep fry them in ghee till hard & brown..
  3. Deep them in hot sugar syrup..
  4. When soaked well, remove them & serve in plates..
  5. You can drop extra syrup over plate if you like..
  6. Put fresh malai/cream/condensed milk..
  7. Sprinkle some chopped dry fruits like kaju badam kishmish & elaichi powder..
  8. You can add yellow colour in syrup or saffron..
  9. In place of sugar syrup, remaining gulab jamun chasni can be use. It tastes awesome..
  10. Yummy sweet shahi bread /tukda/toast ready to serve..
  11. Eat it hot or cold. Awesome in any way..
  12. To make one strand sugar syrup/ 1 taar ki chasni - Add 2 cup water in 1 cup sugar in a woke/kadai. Melt & boil till one wire is coming when a drop is kept between thumb & finger..

Shahi Tukda(Shahi Tukra) is a bread based dessert made with bead,thickened milk,saffron and nuts. They serve this dessert occassionally at our office Either deep fry the bread slices in ghee or toast them. Dont deep fry/toast in oil as it will spoil the taste.
