Ingredients of Veg Mushroom Biryani

  1. Prepare 1 cup of basmati rice.
  2. You need 3-4 of green chillies.
  3. It's 3-4 of garlic cloves.
  4. Prepare 1/2 inch of ginger grated.
  5. You need 200 gms of white buttoned mushroom boiled.
  6. You need 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder.
  7. Prepare 1/2 tsp of garam masala.
  8. It's 1 tsp of coriander powder.
  9. It's 2.5 tsp of mustard oil.
  10. Prepare 1 inch of cinnamon.
  11. You need 2 of green cardomoms.
  12. You need 3-4 of Cloves crushed.
  13. You need 2 of onion thinely sliced.

This is a spicy, hot and super delicious South Indian style mushroom biryani. It also known as kalan biryani. This dum mushroom biryani Is made in the traditional way of cooking on dum. Dum pukht is a technique of cooking in steam by not allowing the steam to pass.

Veg Mushroom Biryani step by step

  1. First rinse rice very well in water then soak rice in water for 30 minutes..
  2. Heat oil in a pan add the whole spices and saute then till they are fragrant..
  3. Then add the sliced onions,stir very well to medium flame till the onions become golden brown..
  4. Then add tomatoes stir and saute for 3 minutes..
  5. Add the boiled mushrooms, salt,garam masala powder,green chillies crushed cloves, grated gingee turmeric powder, coriander powder saute for 2-3 minutes..
  6. Add soaked rice and water and cover the pan with a lid and cook the biryani till the rice grains are done..
  7. Once the rice grains are cooked cover and allow to stand for 5 minutes before serving biryani..
  8. The gently fluff the rice with a fork..
  9. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve the biryani with salad or raita.a.
