  1. It's 11/2 cup of chole.
  2. Prepare 2 of tomatoes.
  3. It's 1 of onion.
  4. Prepare 1 tsp of chole masala.
  5. You need 1 pinch of asafoetida.
  6. Prepare 1 pinch of cumin.
  7. It's as per taste of salt.
  8. It's 1 pinch of turmeric.
  9. Prepare 1 tsp of red chilli powder.
  10. Prepare 1/2 tsp of coriander powder.
  11. You need 6 tsp of oil.

I like the combo of Chole and Puri. Here Chole or Chana are simply made in the tasty gravy of onion and tomatoes and then served with. It comes out very well with a puffy looking, soft texture. We all know the best, popular side dish for chola poori is chana masala or chole masala.

Chole Poori step by step

  1. Soak the chole overnight. Strain the water. In a Pressure cooker add water, salt and turmeric. Pressure cook it to 3 whistles. And allow it to cool.
  2. Make a paste of onion and tomato. And Mix all the spices into it and mix it well..
  3. In a pan add oil. Heat it up. Add asafoetida, cumin and paste. Stir it well till oil left out from it. Now add chole to it and a bit of water. Mix it. Mash some of the chollas to make thick consistency. Allow it to cook for 4minutes. Garnish with coriander..
