  1. It's 1 cup of Sooji /Rava/ Semolina.
  2. It's 2 tbsp of Vegetable Oil.
  3. You need 1/2 of Onion chopped.
  4. You need 1 tsp of Ginger grated.
  5. It's 2.5 cups of Water to pour in Rava (To make Balls).
  6. You need 1 tsp of Salt or to taste.

  10. You need 2 tbsp of Vegetable Oil or Mustard Oil.
  11. You need 1 tsp of Mustard Seeds.
  12. It's 1 tsp of Cumin Seeds.
  13. You need 1/4 tsp of Hing.
  14. It's 1 tsp of Chana Dal.
  15. You need 10-12 of Curry Leaves.
  16. You need 1-2 of Dry Red Chillies.
  17. Prepare 1/2 tsp of Turmeric Powder.
  18. Prepare 1/2 tsp of Red Chilli Powder.
  19. It's 2 tbsp of Fresh Coriander chopped.
  20. You need 1 tbsp of Lemon Juice.

Steamed Sooji Balls/ Rava Balls step by step

  1. Heat a wok or pan and dry roast rava until golden brown in colour. Once done keep aside..
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add onion and ginger to it and saute it for a minute..
  3. Now add water and salt to it and bring it to boil..
  4. When water starts boiling add the roasted sooji to the pan and mix well. Keep stirring to avoid lumps..
  5. Cover the pan and simmer it on low flame. Cook it for 8-10 minutes..
  6. Remove the pan from heat and let the mixture cool.The mixture must not be very cool it must be slightly warm to make the balls from it otherwise the balls will crumble..
  7. Make the small round balls of lemon size from the mixture..
  8. Pour some water in the steamer and bring the water to boil. Place the rava balls on the steamer plate or mold and steam the balls for 10-12 minutes..
  9. For Tempering:-Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, hing, chana dal, curry leaves and dry red chillies to it and fry until dal turns golden brown..
  10. Add turmeric powder and red chilli powder and fry for a minute..
  11. Now add the steamed ball, fresh coriander and lemon juice and toss well. Serve hot..
