- Prepare 1/3 cup of moong dal (Yellow).
- It's 1/2 cup of Tur dal.
- You need 2 cup of beet root leaves chopped.
- You need 1/2 cup of tomatoes chopped.
- You need 1/2 cup of onion chopped.
- You need 2 tbsp of oil.
- It's 1/2 tsp of cumin seeds.
- You need 1 tbsp of chilli garlic ginger paste.
- Prepare 1 pinch of asafoetida (hing).
- You need 1 tsp of red chilli powder.
- You need 1 tsp of turmeric powder.
- It's 1 tsp of coriander powder.
- It's 1 tsp of garam masala powder.
- Prepare 1 tsp of ghee.
- It's as needed of coriander leaves for garnishing.
Add hing and then beetroot, soaked dal and turmeric. Cover and cook on a low heat until the dal turns soft. Turn off the stove once the dal is cooked completely. You can add some coriander leaves if desired.

- Pressure cook (or boil) the daal with the little bit haldi powder.
- In a pan heat oil add the cumin seeds once they start popping add chilli garlic ginger paste and onion fry till onions turn golden brown add the chopped tomatoes and beet root leaves sauté the above mixture till it turns soft and golden.
- Add all dry masala powder and garam masala powder.
- Add the boiled daal mix to the above mix well remove from the flame add 1 tsp ghee garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
- Enjoy with Rice or roti or paratha.
