- You need 1/2 inch of ginger finely chopped.
- Prepare 2 of green chillies finely chopped.

- Wash and soak raw rice for 3-4 hours. Drain..
- In mixer jar add soaked rice,boiled rice,1/2 cup of coconut milk. Grind to smooth mixture..
- Remove this rice mixture in vessel,add sugar,11/2 cup of coconut milk and salt. Mix well.(Mixture should be pouring consistency).
- Add little lukewarm water to yeast. Cover for 10 mins..
- Add this dissolved yeast mixture in prepared rice batter..
- Keep cover for 3-4 hours for fermentation..
- To prepare Veg stew. Blanch chopped french beans, carrot, cauliflower,peas. Keep aside..
- In kadhai heat coconut oil, add mustard seeds as they splutter add asafoetida and curry leaves..
- Add chopped onion, chopped ginger and green chillies..saute for 2 mins..
- Add blanch mix vegetables, cashewnuts paste. Mix well..
- Add coconut milk, salt and simmer for few minutes. Ready to serve..
- To make appam... Heat appam pan, grease lightly with oil. Pour a laddleful of rice batter into it..
- Slowly rotate kadhai in circular motion so that thin layer forms on side and in middle remain thick..
- Cover and cook for few minutes on high flame..
